My plan was to produce a series of penetrating insights into the life of a writer (How I Get My Inspiration, My Typical Working Day etc), but with subtle, subconscious plugs for the Bug House series expertly threaded into each post (BUY MY BOOKS YOU BASTARDS spelled out acrostically in the text).
In the end I couldn’t be bothered. Instead I found myself drawn to more interesting subjects – spies in bags, doggers, Jackahuahuas, Ernest Hemingway’s drinking habits – anything other than writing about my books.
As a result this blog has been something of a flop in terms of the hard sell.
Anyway, tomorrow sees the ebook publication of The Bug House. It’s the first in a series of short novels set in Newcastle, featuring Detective Chief Inspector Theo Vos and his team of major crime detectives. The second and third in the trilogy are published in June and August respectively, and after that – well, who knows?
If you like this blog, and it would seem from your feedback that most of you do, I think you’ll like the books. But the only way to find out is to buy one, which I hope you will. And if you do, why not tell a friend?
There. Advert over. Normal service will be resumed as soon as possible, and nobody will be more relieved than me.
